We’re proud to share that in a case brought by our firm against a large property management company, Camden Development, Inc., a federal judge has again rejected Camden’s attempt to remove the case to federal court and sent it back to Maryland state court.

This case challenges how some apartment landlords advertise rents without disclosing essential fees.

Congratulations to our attorneys Vaughn Stewart and Matt Vocci in obtaining a $289,293.94 judgment on behalf of a tenant against a landlord/property management company! The case was based on about $178 in illegal overcharges. No one took Mr. Deaver seriously until he fought back. The jury verdict was $250,178.53 and the judge awarded an additional $38,373.33 in attorneys' fees and $742.08 in costs.

The case shows a “massive corporate entity taking advantage of an honest, hard-working individual,” the a Baltimore judge wrote.
