South Terrebonne High School graduate Kentley Fairchild has built a distinguished legal career grounded in public service, courtroom experience, and a steadfast commitment to the people of Terrebonne Parish. A lifelong resident of the community he proudly serves, Kentley combines extensive legal knowledge with practical experience across multiple areas of the law.
Kentley graduated with honors from Nicholls State University, earning a degree in Marketing before obtaining his Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. His academic achievements reflect the discipline and work ethic that have defined his professional career.
Following law school, Kentley began his legal career serving as Judicial Law Clerk to Judge Charles Scott of the First Judicial District Court, where he gained invaluable insight into judicial decision-making, legal research, and courtroom procedure.
Over the course of his career, Kentley has served the public in numerous capacities. He has worked as a civil litigator, Assistant District Attorney for Terrebonne Parish, Assistant Parish Attorney representing Terrebonne Parish under both Parish President Michel Claudet and Parish President Jason Bergeron, and Assistant Public Defender for Terrebonne Parish. His broad legal background has provided him with extensive experience handling matters involving criminal law, civil litigation, governmental representation, and family law.
In addition to his courtroom and public service experience, Kentley is also a certified mediator, bringing a balanced, practical, and solution-oriented approach to resolving disputes. Throughout his career, he has earned a reputation for professionalism, fairness, and dedication to justice.
In 2026, Kentley Fairchild is a candidate for Judge for the 32nd Judicial District Court, Division “E,” seeking to continue his service to the community with integrity, experience, and respect for the rule of law.
