Appellate tip of the week:

When reviewing an appellate record for error, consider all preserved error and also error that does not require preservation. For instance, in a civil bench trial, factual and legal sufficiency challenges do not require an objection and ruling from the trial court in order to raise the issue on appeal. Further, in criminal trials, jury charge error can still be reviewable on appeal without an objection.
