Do not leave your coffee for too long and then wonder why it went cold. Do not ignore our connection for so long and then come back only when you're bored.

Once I have made peace with your absence, I don't need you anymore. Your return is just a disruption and I refuse to board your chaos.

For some of us, peace didn't come easy. We cared deeply and being taken for granted hurt deeply too.

We worked for this peace. We prayed for this peace. We cried for this peace.

We will not exchange it for inconsistent affections and good morning texts that dry up by Thursday.

The most understanding people are also the easiest to let go. They will understand when you're not sure about them and not chase you down. But they will also adjust to your choices and move on.

You can't play the game of going quiet so they can come looking for you. They believe we're grownups and take your moves as forms of communication too.
