I don't believe that this Facebook site is still active. We have moved, and I am not sure if the new officers have started another Facebook account, as this one is linked to my account.

Don't forget...there is a leash law in Bell County, as well as on the HOA restrictions. Many times lately, dogs have been running around the neighborhood loose. Pets must be restrained at all times, either in fenced yard or on a leash. Please be considerate to your neighbors and carry a "pooper scooper" and bag with you when you walk your pet. Dispose of the bag in your own trash can, not the HOA trash can.

Reminder to all homeowners. The utility easements must remain free of obstructions such as shrubbery, fences, boulders or other obstructions that could prevent ingress or egress. The easements should be free for maintenance of utilities. Homeowners are responsible for maintenance of these easements, and the easements are not available for travel through the property without the expressed permission of the homeowners, except by utility providers or workers.

Annual meeting/BBQ Meet & Greet is being planned for May 20, 2018, at Sunset Pavilion in Cedar Ridge Park, on Lake Belton. The event will begin at 5:00 PM and will be catered by Backyard BBQ. Letters with forms for RSVP and annual HOA directory will be mailed soon, but mark your calendars. This event is for Homeowners in Cedar Oaks Estates and the Woods at Cedar Oaks and immediate families living in the neighborhood.

The Moffat Volunteer Fire Department is still selling the green address signs, and they are encouraging all homeowners to place this type of reflective sign in front yards to aid in locating homes in case of emergency. The order form for the sign can be found on the “Document” section of the HOA website: www.woodsatcedaroaks.com. Recommended placement location in your yard, along with sign type are shown on the order form.

After you complete the sign order form, you can drop it, along with your payment, in the slot at the Fire Department, or you can mail it to Moffat Volunteer Fire Dept., 5660 Lakeair Blvd., Temple, TX 76502. The fire dept. orders the signs every two weeks and will deliver your sign to your house when it arrives. This usually takes a few weeks, so please be patient, as these are volunteers. If you have questions, the contact person is Dennis Frankum, 254-931-5798, [email protected].

In the event that Homeowners want the Cedar Oaks Estates Homeowner Association (HOA) to participate in an activity or event (such as National Night Out, etc.), the person(s) who are promoting or are interested in that activity may, at their option, obtain information, plan, and submit a plan for this activity. The HOA plans and pays for a catered BBQ/meeting annually, and we have never had even half of the homeowners in attendance. The event is enjoyed by those who attend, and it is an expensive and labor-intensive undertaking that we would welcome all HOA members to attend. The officers and Board of Directors of the HOA do not plan or organize any other activities, but any homeowner(s) may feel free to organize and plan other activities. After the plans and specifics are organized, they may be submitted to the HOA, and the HOA will consider supporting and contributing to the effort. I have a master email list and will be happy to invite the neighborhood to whichever event has been planned. Homeowners who do not volunteer to be involved should not criticize the volunteers for failure to plan and organize an event. We welcome participation! This is your HOA!

There has been another vehicle break-in. As mentioned several times in the past, if your vehicle is not in your locked garage, please lock it. Also, take valuables inside, as windows have been broken in the past in order to take valuables that are inside of the vehicle.

We have recently had incidents of young teens driving a golf cart while texting, and they nearly caused at least two accidents. Most neighbors have not had an issue with these vehicles (go Karts, golf carts, & four-wheelers) on the neighborhood streets; however, we want everyone to know that our streets are Bell County streets, and driving vehicles that are not registered for on-road use is illegal. If you have any questions about driving these vehicles, you can phone the Bell County Sheriff to get the specifics. Safety is our main concern!

We are looking forward to seeing many of the homeowners at the annual BBQ/meeting at Cedar Ridge Park tomorrow. The weather should be clear and pleasant. We will have volleyballs and horse shoes. If anyone wants other "toys", bring them. We are hoping for a good turnout and that everyone will enjoy the day.
