💛 Did You Know?
👉 About 9,550 children in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer in 2025.
👉 Thanks to research and treatment advances, 85% of children with cancer now survive 5 years or more—a major leap from just 58% in the mid-1970s.
💛The Huron Jr Chiefs will be collecting toys that will benefit Children's Hospital of Michigan's Child Life Services. Children navigating the healthcare environment can be faced with many different challenges, ranging from building comfort in an unfamiliar setting to coping through invasive and sometimes painful procedures. It is common for children to feel as if they have very little control and few choices in what goes on around them. The Children’s Hospital of Michigan child life department works as an integral part of the care team to return some of that control to patients and therefore assisting in reducing the stress and anxiety often associated with hospitalization.
There will be a donation box at the entrance of the games on 9/27 as well as at New Boston Nutrition during the month of September!
You can also shop the Amazon Wish List and toys will be sent directly to the Huron Jr. Chiefs. All toys will then be distributed at once to Child Life!
