As this new school year approaches and the children’s expenses start adding up, we wanted to address a misconception about child support.

Child Support is a formula that takes into account both parents' income, health insurance, daycare expenses, and the number of overnights each parent exercises with the child and then calculates the MINIMUM amount of money needed to support the child.

Child support was never meant to be the sole means for parents to support their children. Everything on this list is extra and both parents should contribute according to their ability to pay.
