Some people come into our lives and leave an imprint that time and distance can never erase.
Susan was one of those people for me. We shared so many chapters of life, including a time when a group of close friends lived together in South Tampa, jokingly calling our little house the “Dorm of Scorn”, we had all been dumped by our boyfriends 😂 We went out, exercised, cried, laughed, and helped each other through heartbreak and life’s many changes. She was a constant in my life, a wonderful comfort and like a sister.
Susan was kind, gentle, and deeply loved. Ours was the kind of friendship where you could go far too long without seeing one another and still know, without question, that the love was there.
Several years ago Susan came to work at Darrigo and Diaz and I had the privilege of seeing her every day. Now grown women with responsibilities, we didn’t have much spare time but I enjoyed hearing about her family and her wonderful children who she loved beyond measure.
I will miss her dearly and carry our memories with me always. I only wish there was more time.I always thought we would be laughing together in our older years about those younger days. I could not imagine that her life would be cut short and truthfully, I am having a hard time believing I won’t see her again. The world has lost a wonderful soul.
Rest peacefully my friend. You were deeply loved, and you will never be forgotten.
