Firm associate Emily Thompson recently participated in the Hillsborough County community initiative, Lawyers for Literacy, which brings together legal professionals to help struggling third-grade students pass the reading and language arts portion of the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) exam. Volunteers like Emily commit to a once-a-week tutoring schedule over an 11-week series, helping students build foundational literacy skills and confidence. Emily greatly enjoyed her experience with Lawyers for Literacy and we are proud of her commitment to the community.

Firm partners Chris DeCort and Kacy Donlon attended the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar’s Winter Meetings this week at the Sunseeker Resort in Port Charlotte.

Chris sits on the Executive Council of the section and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Labor Day Retreat Committee. He is also an active member of the Direct vs. Derivative Task Force.

Kacy, who is a former section chair, sits on the Executive Council as well and is a member of the Long Range Planning Committee.
