Since the bank did not issue in public statements at the time it closed the Trump accounts, I do not believe that Trump's lawsuit has merit. He had other banking alternatives. Though a lot of US banks were onto his shady activity and did not want to deal with him.

I was just reading a column in the Indianapolis Star by Professor MIchael Hicks. He is an economist at Ball State University where I studied economics almost 50 years ago. He has some insights that help explain why we have such a divergence of opinions about the economy in the country. There are many states and counties that have not shared in the success of this fabulous economic growth we have experienced. Poor states and poor countries are run by Republicans. With the exception of Florida and Texas, the most prosperous states and counties are run by Democrats. With a few exceptions the biggest factor in why there is a wealth gap is education. The richest cities, counties, and states have the better educated populations. There is not much in the short term that will change that. Republicans seem fixated on reducing public support for education at all levels. That will result is those states stating poor or getting poorer. The Republicans love the poorly educated and now you know the reason why. The major factor for college educations becoming too expensive is the reduction of financial support all across the country. But that is a discussion for a different day.
