Happy Mother's Day!

For all of the newly single moms, moms currently going through a divorce, and even the moms that are struggling to leave a toxic relationship, Mother's Day may look a little different for you this year. That does NOT mean that this Mother's Day won't be just as wonderful if not better than in previous years. Below are a few ideas that can help make this Mother's Day one to remember.

1. Plan ahead. Discuss your plans and pick-up/drop-off times with the other parent so you can keep communication with them to a minimum on the actual day. This will alleviate a lot of stress and allow you to focus your energy on having a great Mother's Day with your kids.

2. Start a new tradition. You now have the opportunity to make great memories with your kids by doing something new and unique with them.

3. Pamper yourself. Are you the mom that never has any alone time and is constantly doing things for everyone else? There is no rule that says you must spend the entire day with your kids on Mother's Day. Book yourself a spa day and let someone else take care of you for a change.

4. Spend the day with friends and other family members. Plan a Mother's Day brunch or get together for yourself and all the moms in your extended family or friend circle.

5. Stay busy. It's completely normal to feel sad or a little uneasy while going through a big change in your life but keeping yourself busy will keep your mind busy. Whether your sipping mimosas with your mom friends at a spa or chasing your littles around at the beach, you will be so engulfed in the happiness of your day that you won't have time to think about the past.
