Some mornings remind you exactly why you love this community. Today we sat in on the Human Trafficking Awareness Training hosted by Campaign Against Human Trafficking - SouthShore at the Greater SouthShore Chamber of Commerce office, and it was time well spent.

Barry Tollenger broke down what trafficking actually looks like today, including the ways kids are being targeted online and through AI, who tends to be most vulnerable, and simple steps any of us can take to keep our families safer. As parents to four daughters, none of it felt abstract to us.

We left with a lot to think about and a reminder that awareness is the first step to protecting the people we love.
