"Excellent lawyer, Mr.Gian-Franco Melendez willing to help me with my daughter case until the end. 100 % recommended."

Always great to receive praise from a satisfied client. This was a long, hard-fought case that took over 5 years. The entire time a mother and daughter were separated and unable to see each other. Hard work pays off, and knowing that they are finally reunited is why I love what I do.

This was a huge week for the firm after two hard-fought victories.

The first was the approval of a green card for a young Liberian woman whose mother petitioned for her. I filed the first application in her immigration process over 5 years ago, but it dragged on because of the COVID-19 pandemic and civil strife in Liberia. This mother and daughter had been separated for a decade, which as a parent myself is unthinkable. Due to the extreme delays, she would have aged out of being eligible for her green card, had I not known of a very important immigration law that froze her age in time to keep her eligible, and made sure that she was prepared with this information at her interview at the US embassy in Monrovia. I am happy and proud to say that they will finally be reunited soon.

The second was an approval of a green card for the Spanish wife of a disabled US military veteran. Due to their lack of knowledge regarding immigration law, she accidentally overstayed her authorized stay in the US by two months, and was deported back to Spain immediately upon returning to the port in Port Canaveral after returning from a brief honeymoon cruise. As one can imagine, this was absolutely devastating to this couple that had only gotten married a week or two earlier, ready to start their lives together. Based on what happened, the law states that she would be banned from returning to the US for 5 years, which would have been unbearable to her husband, who suffers from PTSD as a result of his experiences during his 10 years of military service. Thankfully, I knew that she would be eligible for to apply for a waiver of this 5 year ban, and made sure my client was prepared with the required documentation at her interview in Madrid. This case also suffered unexpected delays of over 2 years, but I was able to work with Senator Marco Rubio's office to see if they could do anything to help expedite the case. After regularly following up with them, my client's green card case and waiver application were approved this morning at her interview. I am also happy and proud to say that this happy couple will soon be reunited and can finally start their lives together.

This job can be extremely difficult, but these kinds of moments make it all worth it.
