Amigos,
We hope you and your families are doing well and staying safe. So much has changed since we last reached out to our members. These are challenging times for the world, and community involvement is needed even more. Our local Hispanic community is also struggling and needs a strong organization to help it now more than ever. For that reason, I invite you to please consider an active or more active role in your organization. We are doing great things, and with your help, we can do so much more.
The THBA will hold elections for Board of Directors positions on June 4, 2020, for the new term beginning on July 1, 2020, and ending on June 30, 2022. Per our bylaws, any current THBA lawyer member may nominate themselves for inclusion on the ballot.
The following board positions are open:
President-Elect (Assuming Presidency for 2021-22 Bar Year)
Treasurer
Secretary
Director (7 Positions)
All THBA members who are interested should submit a statement of interest to [email protected] before June 1, 2020. Shortly after, the newly elected THBA Board of Directors will be announced.
Service on the THBA Board of Directors requires in-person attendance (phone and Zoom available) at Board meetings held every month. We are a young and active organization and require board members to work hard on the numerous projects we are involved in.
The time I have spent in service for the community as a representative of the THBA has been some of the most rewarding moments in my professional career. Board members lead by example and make a commitment to the President, to the Board, to fellow THBA members and the local Hispanic community. It is a commitment of time and energy, but the impact you will have on those in need will be enriching to you personally
If you have questions about the THBA, please feel to contact either myself or Trish Candamo, our President-Elect.
Abrazos,
Hernando Bernal, Jr.
President of the Tampa Hispanic Bar Association
