A great deal of passion has been placed into this project as many of the team members here have experienced some form of incarceration. Block Team U.S.A is a Non profit 501C3 organization which exists to provide assistance for target groups of parents, grandparents, husbands, wives and children of loved ones that have been or are currently incarcerated in a state or federal prison system or envir
onment. Block Team USA is comprised of members from each side, some of us have experienced incarceration and know that county jail’s and correctional facilities can be a lonely place. On the other side; a few of us are on the outside looking in and can attest to the heartache and bitterness of an incarcerated loved one. For all intended purposes Block Team USA is new way for inmates their families & loved ones to stay connected and is dedicated exclusively to providing information, community based support & assistance for target groups of parents, grandparents, husbands, wives and children of loved ones that have been or are currently incarcerated in a state or federal prison system or environment. Our adopt an inmate and indigent hygiene programs are solely surrounding the passions we have as a team to give back and do a greater good for those in need and also to help relieve the financial stress of those on the outside who may be trying to assist an incarcerated individual raise a child/children or take care of elderly parents that are on the outside. We decided to create and use a new high tech approach to provide information, support & assistance to these target groups via the World Wide Web www.BlockTeamUSA.com.This site has been designed with a greater cause in mind that will enable both incarcerated men and women the opportunity to access additional resources such as transitional housing, hygiene, food, clothing and other necessities upon their release as well as provide support for those children and family members they have left behind on the outside looking in who have been affected by a loved ones incarceration. We are currently supplying on a local basis, (Florida) but will be reaching out to extend our hygiene program through-out the United States in the near future. has implemented will provide school supplies to children of parents who are incarcerated and in need of assistance. This is something we would like to accomplish by the end of July or beginning of August for the children returning to school we would like them to have the appropriate school supplies and support to help ensure they get off to a successful start in the upcoming school year. Transitional Housing for inmates being released:
Block Team U.S.A. realizes that a major part of an inmates rehabilitation is having the proper support systems & programs in place upon release from incarceration. Many inmates do not have the support of friends or family members or may have felonies that make it difficult for them to obtain housing upon release which can sometimes lead to a relapse into a life of crime because the ex offender may feel that there are no other options. Transitional housing options provide a safe supportive environment for an ex offender to get back on their feet while also providing services like counseling, job placement assistance and a stable environment in order to eventually transition into a position of becoming completely self sufficient and returning into society as a productive rehabilitated citizen. Inmate Hygiene Program:
Block Team U.S.A. has teamed up with a few partners to give back and help those Correctional Institutions that have a high rate of indigence by supplying personal hygiene items to participating facilities in order to help inmates that are considered indigent. Part of the proceeds generated from the www.BlockTeamUSA.com website will be used to purchase needed hygiene products like: soap, shampoo, lotion, deodorant, and toothpaste. Our goal is to send out these items on a quarterly basis and hopefully help the current need. Unfortunately, we will not be able to eliminate the issue, although every item counts and every inmate assisted is one less inmate who doesn't have basic essentials in order to remain sanitary while incarcerated.
