If you’re PCSing to MacDill Air Force Base and considering new construction, read this before you move forward.
I see this all the time.
New construction feels like the easiest and safest option.
No bidding wars. Everything is brand new. Builder incentives sound great.
And during a PCS — when you’re under time pressure — that can feel like the obvious choice.
But here’s what most military buyers don’t realize:
👉 The builder rep works for the builder. Not for you.
Which means you’re walking into one of the biggest financial decisions of your life:
* signing contracts you’ve never seen before
* trusting incentive structures that aren’t always as straightforward as they sound
* and negotiating with a company that does this every single day
All while being the only one at the table without representation.
That’s where mistakes happen. And not small ones.
New construction can absolutely be a great option — but only if you know how to navigate it strategically.
If you’re relocating to Tampa and want to make sure you’re making the right decisions from the start, I’m here to help.
