A New Year is a perfect time for a new start. With the start of 2022, I am happy to announce that my practice, Mixon Law, P.A., is open for business! Mixon Law is a general business law firm with a specific focus on helping business owners in the alcohol and cannabis industries. As some of you may know, I began my legal career handling complex, commercial litigation. I gained invaluable experience while a litigator surrounded by amazing attorneys, but ultimately I wanted to see what a career outside of the courtroom could offer. An opportunity knocked in the spirits industry and I answered—spending the past year working for a small business winery, brewery, and cidery in a hybrid role as manager, in-house counsel, human resources (you name it, I did it). While there, I gained valuable industry experience and insight into the legal and regulatory issues faced by the alcohol industry and small businesses as a whole. After exposure to the spirits industry, it became clear what I needed to do: combine my interest in all things ABV with my license to practice law. Mixon Law is therefore, the culmination of my passions and experience: alcohol, law, and a desire to help businesses succeed. I am grateful for the experiences that have lead me to this next chapter and indebted to the many wonderful individuals that helped me get here. I look forward to this opportunity to be both a partner and counselor to the Florida business community. Happy New Year and cheers to 2022!
