I’m Sean Bevil, and I have the pleasure to run for President-Elect of the Young Lawyers Division for the Hillsborough County Bar Association. I currently work as an Associate at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, and before that, I served over four years as an Assistant State Attorney for the 13th Judicial Circuit. For as long as I have lived in Tampa, I have been a member of the Hillsborough County

Bar Association. My experience over the past five years has been nothing short of rewarding, and I now seek to pay it forward and provide that same experience to every person I come across in the YLD. If elected, I will work to strengthen our programming, promote a forum of inclusiveness, and maintain the YLD as an educational and enjoyable experience for everyone. Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of serving on the YLD’s Board of Directors, serving as Historian and liaison to many hard-working committee members. In 2016, I first joined the Member Services Committee and took on responsibilities as a two-term committee co-chair like planning the annual Coffee at the Courthouse and Judicial Shadowing Event, which is still being held today. I also took joy in putting together the YLD’s presentation at the annual HCBA Judicial Food Festival and in implementing several health and wellness events for our members to promote a better work-life balance. If elected, I promise to work diligently and with conviction to ensure that our wonderful organization brings excellent programming, services, and recognition to all young lawyers of Hillsborough County. In my community involvement as well as my career, I strive to uphold the values of servant leadership and to passionately advocate for those around me. As President-Elect, I will bring these values to the forefront and continue to promote engagement among our diverse membership. Elections take place April 29 to May 15, and ballots will be sent through email to every YLD member. I am truly excited to roll up my sleeves again for the young lawyers of Hillsborough County and to continue representing the YLD. Please join me in this adventure to serve as your President-Elect for the HCBA YLD!

Tampa's Hope Lodge provides patients and caregivers a place to stay - free of charge - while they receive cancer treatment at one of their world renowned cancer centers. All donations made to ABOA will go to support the Hope Lodge's operating costs and patient services.
