It's well known that injuries occurring as a result of medical treatment or other care provided for a compensable injury may be found compensable as well. This includes a Claimant sustaining injuries in a Motor Vehicle Accident on the way to authorized treatment, or botched medical procedures. However, the Claimant bears the burden of proving such relationship through medical testimony.
Yesterday, the First DCA affirmed a JCC's ruling denying compensability of payment of ambulance services and hospital bills related to an AFib incident Claimant sustained while receiving his 3rd set of authorized nerve blocks.
