I had a tremendous time last Friday at The Florida Bar and The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division's first-ever Job and Resource Fair! This event was an inspiring look into the lives and aspirations of our future legal leaders. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’ผโœจ

It's time for another installment of "A Seat at the Table with Sia!" This time, I sat down with The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division President, Arti Hirani, to chat about the Job and Resource Fair this Friday and about how important the YLD is to the legal profession in Florida.

When I say I'm saving you a seat at the table, this is what I mean! I can't wait to hear about the issues facing Florida's lawyers right from each of you who live it every day!

We are so excited to announce that President Baker-Barnes will be coming to a computer near you soon to hear from you directly about the obstacles and issues facing Florida's legal professionals today.

As part of the Bar's Sustainability Initiative for Attorneys, President Baker-Barnes will host a town hall-style virtual event, organized by judicial district, to hear from Florida's legal professionals themselves.

Learn more about the initiative in the Bar News or visit FloridaBar.org/ListeningTour.

It has been a busy week in Tallahassee! I feel so honored to have presented 21 Pro Bono Awards to pro bono heroes from across the state! This is such a special event that highlights the importance of public service and access to justice in the legal profession. โš–๏ธ

The Board meeting was this morning, and, as always, we had a ton to get done, and we did it efficiently. Thank you to our entire Board for selflessly taking time out of the office and paying their own way to travel all over Florida on behalf of Florida's lawyers and residents. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Thank you also to the Florida Supreme Court for joining us this morning, and to Chief Justice Muniz for speaking about the state of the courts and the relationship between the Bar and Florida's State Courts System.

Happy New Year! ๐ŸŽ‰ Six months down, six more to go, and I'm already so proud of everything we have accomplished during my presidency and the foundations we are laying for the future. I am particularly proud of the Florida Bar Corporate Counsel Committee and all the work they have accomplished while ensuring corporate counsel always has a seat at the table. ๐Ÿค

Check out my recent discussion about corporate counsel and how they fit into our legal world with GoBrightline's Risk Management and Compliance Vice President and Associate General Counsel Lisa Gatchell.

Today was our Board meeting in Orlando, and while we always get a lot of work done, I also had the honor of presenting my predecessor, Scott Westheimer, with his presidential scrapbook! Each Florida Bar President brings new perspectives, experiences, and goals to the Bar that continue to drive our mission, and I am honored to be a part of that history.

In addition to my reunion with Immediate Past-President Westheimer, we heard from Chief Justice Muรฑiz this morning, which launched us into a fantastic meeting! I am so proud of all the work we continue to do, and the people I get to share it with.
