Join the Hispanic Graduate Student Association THIS TUESDAY THE 18th FOR THE SECOND day of CINEHASSEE, a Hispanic Film Festival that celebrates diversity so valuable in any democratic society. Cinehassee contributes to foster this value by exposing topics, problems, ideas and realities that are different from what many citizens live today in the day to day basis; in this opportunity to celebrate the Hispanic Heritage month. Select films are going to be followed by Q & A sessions featuring a panel of experts. All events are free to the general public, and the first 20 first attendees get free popcorn!

Film info for "Tambien la lluvia"/"Even the rain" (2011):
[Spanish with English subtitles]

Filmmaker Sebastián (Gael García Bernal) and his cynical producer Costa (Luis Tosar) arrive in Cochabamba, Bolivia to make a film about Columbus’s voyage to the New World and the subjugation of the indigenous population. Just as filming begins, the natives face a crisis when the government privatizes the water company and prices skyrocket. Daily protests erupt and the local man cast as a rebellious sixteenth century Taino chief, also becomes a leader in the water hike protests. This film was the Spanish submission for the 2012 Best Foreign-Language Academy Award.
