Our Story

Do you need a lawyer to help you save your home, defend you from criminal charges, help you through a difficult financial time or draft or probate a will? Hathaway Sprague Law is here to help.

A member of The Florida Bar since 1986, Kathryn A. Hathaway opened her own solo practice in 1991, after practicing with other firms and with Florida State University. For over 30 years, she has practiced what she calls “money law” - estate planning, probate, asset protection and bankruptcy. Kathryn enjoys helping clients puzzle out the best solutions for knotty problems, whether the challenge is how to take care of your loved ones and be able to provide a home for them now, or how to take care of them after you are gone. In 2006, Kathryn became Board Certified in Consumer Bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification. Kathryn helps her clients get a fresh start by filing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.

Wayne E. Sprague, former assistant public defender, and Florida Bar member since 1981, joined the firm in 2007, and handles the firm’s litigation. He also defends clients accused of crimes including theft, burglary, white collar crime, traffic crimes, DWI assault, battery, and other crimes of violence. Wayne’s background as a former Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and his Masters of Computer Science, gives him an additional insight in defending computer crimes.
