“We have been advised that the shooter was in constant communication with ChatGPT leading up to the shooting. We also have reason to believe that ChatGPT may have advised the shooter how to commit these heinous crimes.

We will therefore file suit against ChatGPT, and its ownership structure, very soon, and will seek to hold them accountable for the untimely and senseless death of our client, Mr. Morales.”

: Attorneys for one of the victims killed on Florida State University’s campus nearly a year ago plan to file a lawsuit against ChatGPT, claiming they "have reason to believe that ChatGPT may have advised the shooter how to commit these heinous crimes.”

This past weekend, our team was honored to serve as the main sponsor of the 8th Annual M.A.D. (Make A Difference) Dash in Tallahassee.

Hosted at Thomasville Road Baptist Church, this event is a fundraiser benefiting Harvest of Life Prison Ministry, an organization dedicated to restoring and transforming lives through God’s love and grace for those behind bars. Their mission is rooted in the belief that every person is made in the image of God and has a purpose worth fighting for.

At Brooks, LeBoeuf, Foster, Gwartney & Hobbs, we are proud to support organizations and events that stand for accountability, restoration, and hope.

Thank you to everyone who ran, volunteered, and helped make this year’s M.A.D. Dash such a meaningful success.

Matthew Foster, who represents the attacked officer, said his client has nerve damage on his dominant hand used to draw his gun.

During the discovery process, Foster said he uncovered three total incidents in which K9 Kai attacked fellow officers.

Foster told WCTV he does not blame the dog, though he is worried if a civilian might be in the line of fire next. With three dog attacks against law enforcement, he wonders if the dog would be better suited for another job or if the dog’s training is not adequate.

After 35+ incredible years with our firm, Rhonda Bennett is officially retiring! Rhonda leaves behind a legacy of brilliance, dedication, and justice.

Known to many as the "walking library" and the true "brains of the outfit," Rhonda’s mastery of the law was unparalleled. Whether she was fighting for the downtrodden alongside her partners or guiding trial judges with a subtle nod from the gallery, her impact on our firm’s reputation and the legal community is immeasurable.

While she often avoided the limelight, preferring the quiet of remote work and the beach in recent years, her presence was felt in every motion we filed and every case we won. As our first point of reference for every complex legal question, she kept us sharp, accurate, and successful.

Rhonda, you have been a mentor, a "legal conscience," and a dear friend to so many of us. We aren't sure what we’ll do without your wisdom, but we know that no AI or technology could ever replicate what you brought to this firm.

Thank you for 35+ faithful years of excellence.

We wish you nothing but relaxation and joy in this next chapter! Help us wish Rhonda a very happy retirement!
