Enjoy the Summer Weather and celebrate! And if you need us, be sure to check our online outreach calendar for walk-in Legal Aid Pop-Ups and Tenants' Rights Legal Clinics on our website -- there will be a lot to choose from next week. If you're coming in to the office, remember our main office general intake hours have changed to Monday-Wednesday, 1-3 p.m. Housing Justice Project Intake will be available Monday-Thursday 1-3 p.m.

Heads up -- if you're coming to our office at 621 Tacoma Ave S to do a general in-person intake for our program, beginning the week of June 15 our walk-in hours are changed to Monday-Wednesday, 1-3 p.m. This applies to all legal issues other than landlord-tenant problems.

HOUSING JUSTICE PROJECT WALK-IN OFFICE INTAKE HOURS HAVE NOT CHANGED and remain Monday-Thursday, 1-3 p.m. Use the door code to call up as usual and come to Rm. 303 if you're visiting HJP on a Thursday. Our scheduled Legal Aid Pop-Up for the upcoming week will be at the Law Library in the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent. If you'd been planning to attend our Gig Harbor pop-up which normally takes place on the 3rd Monday of the month, it is cancelled for next week only.

IF YOU ARE A VETERAN --- our 3rd Wednesday walk-in legal clinic for veterans at the VA American Lake Campus is coming up! You can bring any question to our VALOR (Veterans Advocacy & Legal Outreach) Program attorney and outreach staff, from VA benefits questions to family law, landlord-tenant and estate issues. We'll be in Building 9 (Auditorium) with a number of other providers of veteran services -- it's a one-stop shop! Thank you to the VA for hosting us and putting this monthly clinic together.

Got an issue with your landlord you could use our help with? We've got walk-in legal advice clinics for you, from Renton to Tacoma to Lakewood. These clinics offer an opportunity to get one-on-one legal advice from one of our Housing Justice Project staff attorneys. If you come, please bring with you any documents, notices, etc. related to your issue and expect to be screened for income eligibility.

Need help with a landlord-tenant problem? Our Housing Justice Project's Tenants' Rights Clinics are here for you. Walk-in advice from our staff attorneys is available on Tuesday at Tacoma Libraries' Main Branch from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday, as well as Lakewood City Hall 9-11 a.m. and Burien King County Library 1-3 p.m. on Thursday. Plan to arrive early; you'll be screened for eligibility by one of our paralegals and it's helpful if you can bring any documents with you which relate to your issue.

Next week's free, walk-in legal aid pop-ups are taking place in Sumner and Tacoma's Eastside and South Tacoma neighborhoods -- if any of these locations work for you and you have a question for us, we'd love to see you!

The pop-ups are open to all and we are happy to talk with you about any civil legal issue, large or small. Even if our program doesn't do what you need, we will do our best to find the right resources and next steps for you!

Our Housing Justice Project has three Tenants' Rights Legal Clinics scheduled for the first week of June -- Monday in Federal Way, Tuesday at the Tacoma Public Library Moore Branch and Thursday at Lakewood City Hall.

These free walk-in clinics provide an opportunity to get legal advice about your landlord-tenant issue from one of our HJP staff attorneys. We do require an intake for income and issue eligibility but even if you're not eligible for our program we can provide resources and guidance, so don't hesitate to bring your issues to us!

Are you having a problem with your landlord -- repairs, deposits, retaliation, discrimination, etc.? Our Housing Justice Project attorneys are here to help in both Pierce and King Counties with our walk-in Tenants' Rights Legal Clinics.

Tuesday -- Main Branch Tacoma Public Library, 1-3 p.m.
Wednesday -- Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent, 1-3 p.m.
Thursday -- Lakewood City Hall, 9-11 a.m.

Here's our Legal Aid Pop-Up schedule for the last week of May -- we've got several locations in Tacoma for you plus an early afternoon at the Auburn Resource Center and a visit to Bonney Lake -- come visit us if you need help with a civil legal problem!

And if you're a veteran, come to the Veterans Resource Fair at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday 5/30, 9-3! You know our VALOR Program (Veterans Advocacy & Legal Outreach) will be there, so come talk to us and get to know what we can do for you.
