Get to know our new board member, Laura Kaufman!

Laura is an attorney and partner at Birch Kaufman located in Syracuse. She served in the U.S. Navy before earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland and her law degree from Indiana University. In addition to her work as an attorney, Laura also has experience leading nonprofit organizations as both a board member and the staff executive.

“Laura’s experiences as an attorney with specialties in estate planning, probate, and trust administration along with past work as a nonprofit executive will serve the Community Foundation well as we serve donors and grantees. Her insights into the needs of the northern part of our county where she lives and works will also be valuable to our work,” said Stephanie Overbey, Community Foundation CEO. Welcome, Laura!
