Florida may allow open carry in specific situations, but that doesn’t turn you into Dirty Harry.
Before you walk into any store or business with your firearm visible, look for a “No Open Carry” sign. If that sign is posted, you cannot take your gun onto that property.
And here’s the part most people don’t know:
If you ignore the sign, walk in anyway, and the owner or staff asks you to leave, and you don’t, you could be charged with Armed Trespassing, a serious felony in Florida.
Open carry might sound simple, but the law has rules you must follow.
If you’re not sure whether you’re permitted, or you need guidance on Florida firearm laws, get informed before you get in trouble.
