Congratulations Janel!!

Look who stopped in to pick up her 2020 Young Professional of the Year award presented by Wylie and Washburn,LLC! Janel Strieter is a graphic designer with The Sumter Item. As a driven, hardworking, creative professional she gives 110% in everything she does. Originally from Chicago, she decided to relocate to the community after falling in the love with the area while visiting family. With a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Truman State University, Janel spent several years advocating on behalf of the Sumter community while serving in her role as Communications Director for The Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce. Having a sunny disposition and a generous heart she remains an engaged member of the Sumter community through her church, as a member of the Young Professionals organization, supporting the cultural arts, as well as other various community programs and events.
