High school girls: as always, I want to ensure that all of you are able to experience prom in a dress that you love. šŸ’ƒšŸ¼šŸ‘ šŸ‘‘šŸŖ©āœØ If you will need a dress/shoes/accessories, please reach out to me ASAP! If possible, please don’t wait until the last minute. That said, I know things happen and I will still help you. Just to be clear, this is open to any girl enrolled in high school who intends to go to prom, not just girls I represent — so if you have a friend, daughter, student, etc. who needs help, reach out to me. Please let me know when prom is and provide sizing info and specific requests. Nobody will know. 🩷

On 02/17/2026, the Summersville Police Department was escorting Ronald Stroupe Jr. of Princeton, WV out of a girls’ basketball game at the Nicholas County High School. Mr. Stroupe had been asked numerous times by the Summersville Police Department S.R.O. Officer for the high school to calm down after having a verbal altercation with a parent from Nicholas County. Mr. Stroupe was asked to leave and had to be escorted from the gym. While being escorted Mr. Stroupe became more belligerent and physical with the officer. Mr. Stroupe was then placed under arrest. While placing Mr. Stroupe in custody, a firearm fell out of Mr. Stroupe’s waistband onto the gym floor. Mr. Stroupe grabbed the gun and refused to release it. Mr. Stroupe was disarmed by the officer with assistance of Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Stroupe was placed in custody.

Mr. Stroupe was charged with [1] Possession of a Deadly Weapon on the premises of an Educational Facility, [2] Brandishing, [3] Obstructing an Officer, [4] Public Intoxication, and [5] Disorderly Conduct.

Mr. Stroupe was transported to Central Regional Jail and is awaiting arraignment by a magistrate.

Stay warm and stay safe this weekend. Don’t be greedy. Go to the store, get what you and your family need. When you take too much, you leave others without. Use common sense. If you don’t need to go out, don’t. Check on your neighbors, especially your elderly neighbors, single parents, and neighbors in mobile homes. If you are able-bodied, help with their wood stoves and make sure they have necessities.
There is a shelter/warming center set up at First United Methodist Church in Webster Springs. It is open all weekend. Thanks to wonderful volunteers, there will be heat, food, and hot showers. Nicholas County has eight (8) potential warming shelters that will be opened in the event of power outages, per the Nicholas County Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Locations will be updated as the shelters are opened.

Happy Law Enforcement Appreciation Day! Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to work with police officers who consistently demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to keeping their communities safe. Behind the scenes, many of them go above and beyond their duties and responsibilities because they see a need or feel it’s the right thing to do. I’m proud to not only call them my colleagues, but my friends. If you disagree with this sentiment, please refrain from leaving negative, argumentative comments. We live in a country where I, as a woman, am fortunate enough to be able to speak my mind, own a business, and support causes and organizations that align with my values — and you have those same rights. ā¤ļø

Happy Divorce Monday! Yes, it’s a real thing - the first Monday of the new year when everyone who didn’t want to ruin the holidays calls to set up divorce consultations with ā€œnew year, new meā€ energy. As expected, we are experiencing a higher volume of calls than usual. I also have a full docket today and I’m in the process of responding to your emails and messages on MyCase, so please be patient. I enjoyed the holidays and I feel refreshed and ready to get back to work. ā¤ļø
