Plaintiffs have petitioned the Judicial Panel on Mutidistrict Litigation for consolidation of lawsuits against Exactech, the manufacturer of knee, ankle, and hip replacement devices.

In August 2021 the company recalled polyethylene inserts for their knee and ankle replacements noting the packaging could damage the inserts and cause them to degrade.

In February 2022 the company recalled 14,000 knee replacement systems.

Plaintiffs have asked for claims to be consolidated in the Eastern District of New York.

A class action lawsuit against the makers of Zinus foam matresses has beeen ordered to proceed for a limited class of plaintiffs in Illinois.

The matresses are sold online and at big box retail stores. Claims stem from allegations the matresses release a large amount of glass fibers which can cause life-threatening injuries to users and their families. Plaintiffs allege that the company did not warn users that removal of the outer cover could cause exposure of the contents of the mattress.

Some users experienced tiny shards of glass throughout their home including their clothes, bedding, towels, carpet, and walls. Fiberglass contamination and removal can cost thousands of dollars in addition to the personal injury claims including eye, skin, and upper respiratory tract irritation.

Judge David Dugan ruled that Illinois residents can continue to assert claims on behalf of a proposed nationwide class and an Illinois statewide class. Plaintiffs are represented by Christopher Cueto of Cueto Law and Environmental Litigation Group, P.C..

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has withdrawn its approval for the cancer medicine .

Approved to treat marginal zone and follicular lymphomas, the drug received FDA Accelerated Approval in February of 2021.

Manufacturer TG Theraputics voluntarily withdrew their pending Biologics License Application (BLA) and supplemental New Drug Application (sNDA) on April 15, 2022.

What legal remedies do the victims and families of school shootings have in America? A complex web of immunities and federal and state laws shield police, school districts, and gun manufacturers from lawsuits.

After the most recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, attorneys and advocates for gun legislation are urging congress to revisit the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (2005) which provides near blanket immunity to gun manufacturers and dealers from civil lawsuits if their weapons are used in the commission of a crime.
