Today, Gloria and I mourn not only a giant in the struggle for justice, but a dear friend and brother, Reverend Jesse Jackson.
Jesse dedicated his life to lifting others, to giving voice to the unheard and hope to the forgotten. His courage moved a nation. His faith carried generations. His belief in fairness and opportunity helped open doors that many of us now walk through.
To me, he was more than a civil rights icon. He was a trusted friend, a man of conviction, and a relentless champion for equality. His legacy will continue to inspire us to stand taller, speak louder, and fight harder for what is right.
Rest well, my friend. Your work lives on in all of us. – Willie
