Today, RJ Ferraro teamed up with his old law school roommate, Michael Ohle of Ohle & Ohle to present the Court with a Stand Your Ground Defense Motion for their co-defendants. The Result? Case Dismissed!
Here are three things to remember when exchanging children for the holidays or on any days for that matter, to avoid conflict or worse, criminal prosecution:
1. If you have a court ordered parenting plan, don't try to deviate from the dates and times unless both parent's clearly agree.
2. If you don't have a parenting plan established by the courts but live separate from the other parent, petition the court to create one. You will still have plenty of chances to negotiate a plan with the other parent, but in the event you can't agree, the court will come up with parameters which ultimately lead to less confusion and less conflict.
3. When you don't get your way, violence is never the answer, especially when the kids are watching!! Contact an attorney immediately to understand your rights. The Ferraro Law Group offers confidential consultations to discuss matters just like these.
When there is no clear outline of each parent's rights and obligations, mistrust, conflict and even violence can result. Remember to keep this outside of the children's orbit to ensure that you are not contributing to their eventual need for therapy. For more information check out ferrarolawgroup.com
