Action required for attorneys with client trust accounts — deadline July 1, 2026.

Under Business and Professions Code section 6091.3, designated attorneys of all client trust accounts (IOLTA and non-IOLTA) must serve a Notice to Financial Institutions form on their financial institution by July 1, 2026.

What to do:
→ Complete the State Bar's Notice to Financial Institutions form — one per trust account.

→ Serve the completed form on your bank per Code of Civil Procedure section 684.115.

→ Use the DFPI website to locate your bank's designated service of process address.

→ Update trust account and contact information in My State Bar Profile within 30 days of any changes.

This is an ongoing obligation. Designated licensee information must also be updated with your financial institution within 30 days if a designated licensee becomes inactive, ineligible to practice, or leaves the firm.

In observance of Juneteenth, SJCBA will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026. We join our community in honoring the emancipation of enslaved People in the United States, and we use this day to reflect on our shared responsibility in the ongoing pursuit of equity, liberty, and justice for all. We will reopen with regular hours on Monday, June 22, 2026.

The 2026 Women Lawyers Section Scholarship application is now open!

This $2,000 scholarship is open to woman-identifying law students who have completed their first year and plan to practice in San Joaquin County.

Today is Primary Election Day in San Joaquin County. All polling places and the Registrar of Voters office (44 N. San Joaquin St., Stockton) are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

You have four ways to ensure your vote counts before the 8:00 PM deadline tonight:
1. Vote-by-Mail: Drop your signed ballot envelope at any official county drop box by 8:00 PM, or mail it ensuring it is postmarked today.
2. Registrar’s Office: Visit the Stockton office to vote on an accessible touch-screen machine or to get a replacement ballot.
3. Polling Places: Cast your ballot or use an accessible voting machine at your local polling place.
4. Accessible Vote-by-Mail: Voters with disabilities can use remote screen-reader technology to mark ballots at home. Ballots must be printed and returned via mail (postmarked today) or dropped off by 8:00 PM.

If you lost or damaged your ballot, you can request a replacement at the Registrar’s Office or your polling place.
