A serious injury can affect someone’s ability to work in ways that aren’t immediately obvious.

When a construction accident left a young father unable to return to his job, Ed looked beyond the injury itself and focused on how it affected his client’s everyday life.

One important detail became central to his argument at the hearing and ultimately helped secure a favorable Social Security Disability decision.

Ed shares the story behind that outcome.

What started as a casual conversation about Holtermann's Bakery turned into a full blown cupcake challenge.

Our investigator claimed he could eat an entire variety pack in one sitting. Jon decided to put that claim to the test.

9 cupcakes later… he wasn’t bluffing. 😂

Now we’re curious, Staten Island. Who thinks they can take on the D’Agostino & Associates Bite Back Cupcake Challenge?

Growing up on Staten Island, Jon got to know the places that generations of Staten Islanders still love today.

Holtermann’s Bakery is one of those places. A longtime neighborhood staple that brings back plenty of memories. And sometimes, the best way to show people where you’re from is to take them back to the places you remember!

Staten Island, what’s your go-to at Holtermann’s?

A speeding ticket might seem like just another fine, but repeated violations can point to something much more serious.

According to NYC DOT, drivers with 20 or more speed-camera violations were five times more likely to be involved in a crash resulting in death or critical injury.

A reminder that slowing down isn’t just about avoiding a ticket. It’s about keeping yourself and everyone else on the road safe.

Something about this spot just feels right…

Sometimes, the smallest detail can become an important part of a case.

In this slip-and-fall matter, a store employee’s own words helped establish that she was aware of the spill before the fall occurred.

Jenna explains why that one sentence mattered, and what attorneys are looking for when determining whether a property owner had notice of a dangerous condition.

If you were a teenager on Staten Island in the ’80s, there’s a good chance you remember Merry-Go-Round and Chess King.

White suits, disco blasting, and salespeople who practically danced their way through the store. These were the places to go when you wanted to look like you just stepped off Miami Vice.

Jon still remembers the white suit he bought at 17🤣

Staten Island, who remembers these stores?

These five words can help describe something that matters in a Social Security Disability case: how your condition actually affects your ability to work.

Unpredictable: Your symptoms vary in a way that makes it difficult to know when you’ll be able to function consistently.

Unscheduled: Your condition may require breaks that can’t always be planned, whether that’s to lie down, use an inhaler, use the bathroom or manage symptoms.

Absent: Flare-ups or symptoms may cause you to miss work on a recurring basis.

Off task: Even when you’re physically present, pain, fatigue, brain fog, anxiety or other symptoms may interfere with your ability to stay focused on your work.

Pace: You may be able to complete certain tasks, but struggle to maintain the consistent speed and productivity expected throughout a workday.

The important part isn’t simply using these words. It’s explaining, truthfully and specifically, how your condition affects you and giving real examples that are consistent with your medical history.

*Every disability claim is different, and eligibility depends on the individual facts and applicable Social Security rules.*

Some knew every word. Some needed a little help. 😂

But now we have to know… if you were put on the spot, could you sing the D’Agostino jingle?
