Some that may concern you:

-'Starting Oct. 1, it will be illegal for employers to require a job applicant’s age, birth date or graduation date on an initial employment application. That would be considered a “discriminatory employment practice”'

-'Public Act 21-78 first expands the general definition of domestic violence to include a wider range of behaviors that include isolation, stalking, threatening or “coercive control,” which includes deprivation of basic necessities and forced s*x acts, among others.'

- 'As of Oct. 1, new smoking restrictions will take effect. It will be prohibited to smoke anything — to***co, ma*****na or va**ng — within 25 feet of any door, window or vent intake of any retail space, restaurant or any building open to the public.'

This is great news - the State "re-opening" more fully. Please know that the CT court system is also using May as an opportunity to start ramping up in person court business. Now that a high percentage of the state is vaccinated they are looking to expedite resolving cases and whittling down the case backlog that resulted from the Pandemic. There may soon be less protection for renters and people unable to pay for their mortgage as well.
