Crime in our beloved city is a problem. Have to have experienced attorneys (and lots of them) in the Circuit Attorney’s office to prosecute gun crimes.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office has about half the number of prosecutors on staff as five years ago.

This is a tough position for the City - no money and saddled with thousands of buildings. Wonder if private citizens could donate to the City solely for tearing down the worst of these buildings. These buildings have causes so much misery and crime in these already crime heavy areas.

These apartment complexes account for 1/4 of all the violent crime in Ferguson. Out of state investors hoarding low income housing tax credits and not doing their job for tenants. The preamble to the federal low income housing statute requires that owners and managers provide “safe and sanitary” housing for low income residents. Our tax dollars are making these investors rich and they are not pumping adequate dollars into making the properties safe.

Residents cite crime and maintenance issues at the Park Ridge and Northwinds complexes, whose owners have benefited from millions in low-income housing tax credits.

Brutal. Trump's new budget would cut against those who need help the most.
-- Trump would eliminate the Legal Services Corporation, which helps almost 2 million people a year. The agency helps poor people find lawyers to resolve housing cases and navigate bankruptcy, and helps victims of domestic violence get protective court orders.
