One of the things that makes St. Louis Hills so special is that it doesn’t really look like the rest of St. Louis.
While much of South City is known for its traditional brick architecture, St. Louis Hills blended those building traditions with Art Deco design from the 1920s and 1930s. The result was curved brick walls, glass block accents, porthole windows, geometric patterns, and some of the most distinctive homes in the city.
It’s one of those neighborhoods where the more you pay attention to the details, the more interesting it becomes.
