Memorial Day weekend is one of the most heavily patrolled times of the year for Driving While Intoxicated enforcement.

Across Missouri and Illinois, law enforcement often increases saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints during holiday weekends. If someone is pulled over, the next few decisions can matter.

A DWI stop may involve questions about alcohol or drug use, field sobriety tests, a breath or blood test, or an arrest if the officer believes there is probable cause.

In Missouri, refusing a chemical test can lead to a 1-year license revocation, possible ignition interlock requirements, and additional legal complications. Illinois has similar consequences.

DWI cases can also move quickly. In some cases, deadlines for license hearings may be as short as 15 days.

If someone is arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and has not hired an attorney yet, Rose Legal Services can help.

Your defense starts with a conversation.

🌷 Mother’s Day is a time to recognize the people who keep showing up, even when life is heavy.

For many people facing criminal charges, mothers are often the first call, the steady voice, and the person who refuses to give up on them.

Today, we honor the mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, and mother figures who stand beside their loved ones through difficult chapters.

Your support matters more than you know.

⚖️ Missouri's Safe Schools Act: What Parents Should Know
Missouri schools must report certain felony-level offenses to law enforcement, including assault, drug distribution, weapon possession, and property damage. But not every school incident qualifies—and police still need probable cause to arrest. If your child is facing charges from a school incident, experienced juvenile defense can make the difference between diversion programs and a permanent record. Contact Rose Legal Services today.

🤔 Ask a Criminal Defense Lawyer
Q: Can my child's juvenile record be expunged?
A: Yes. Many juvenile records in Missouri can be expunged, giving your child a clean slate. Eligibility depends on the type of offense, how the case was resolved, and time passed since completion. Expungement is especially important before college applications, job searches, and military service. Early intervention with an attorney can preserve expungement options later. Questions about juvenile expungement? Contact Rose Legal Services.

💡 Did You Know: Common School-Related Juvenile Charges
Students arrested at school may face charges including:

Fourth-degree Assault (pushing, shoving, slapping)
Possession of drugs or drug paraphernalia
Trespassing or Disorderly Conduct
Property damage or vandalism
Harassment charges
The severity depends on facts, prior history, and whether it's a misdemeanor or felony. Juvenile cases have serious consequences even though they don't go through adult criminal court. Contact Rose Legal Services for juvenile defense.

🤔 Ask a Criminal Defense Lawyer
Q: What happens after my child is arrested at school in Missouri?
A: Law enforcement forwards the case to the Juvenile Office, which decides whether to refer for informal supervision, file a formal delinquency petition, or dismiss the matter. For minor or first-time offenses, many cases qualify for diversion programs that avoid court involvement entirely. But only if you have an attorney advocating immediately. Questions about juvenile court? Contact Rose Legal Services.

💡 Did You Know: School Discipline vs. Criminal Charges
In Missouri, school discipline is separate from law enforcement action:

Inappropriate behavior doesn't automatically justify arrest
Police need probable cause that a crime occurred
Many lower-level offenses don't meet the threshold for charges
Your child may face both school discipline AND juvenile court
Even if charges are dropped, your child could still face suspension or expulsion. Coordinate your defense on both fronts with experienced representation. Contact Rose Legal Services.
