Moving in the Right Direction

Before becoming a real estate agent, I was a construction site manager. Starting as a laborer on the job site, I saw what went into building a home. After some time, I was given the responsibility of ordering supplies, managing sub contractors, and designing the interiors of the homes. During my career as a partner to my husband, we constructed 35+ homes, including custom homes and spec homes, did several remodels, and infills on commercial property. I handled the draws, paid sub contractors, and procured insurances and permits for our projects. The most difficult aspect of the job was expecting the people that worked for me to give as much as I did. Although it was my company, and I felt every home was an extension of myself, to them it was just a job. Over time I believe I was able to create such a working relationship that my subcontractors felt part of a team and attitudes dramatically improved. The part of the job that I enjoyed the most was watching a home, part of the American dream, come out of the earth. I loved the design process and found the problems that arose daily to be challenges for which I enjoyed finding solutions. It is still gratifying to drive through a subdivision and see the homes I helped to construct.

Now, I approach selling homes with the same enthusiasm. I take it as a personal challenge to find a home tailored to my client. I give my very best when listing a property for my seller. I have built my business mostly on referrals and repeat customers. Having a construction background, I will identify both positives and negatives while viewing a property. I still have a database of contacts from my building days that I share with new buyers and sellers wishing to do repairs or updates to homes. My favorite part of the job is knowing that I am still helping people find and purchase the home of their dreams.

I recently joined eXp Realty. It is a cloud based company with a great future. I have always been a self starter and did not rely on the structured office setting. This company continues to grow and impress me with it's business model and concern for it's employees.
