----------------------------------------------------

The Springfield Student Advocacy Project is a law student-run advocacy group* that is committed to safeguarding the educational rights of Springfield ch

ildren and youth. SSAP pairs Springfield Public School District students and their parents with a trained advocate who can provide advocacy and support at school meetings, including suspension, expulsion, and special education hearings. Advocates are also available to provide parents and students with information about their rights, as well as community referrals for advanced legal support and other related services. SSAP strives to collaborate with local and national community partners to advance the use of school exclusion alternatives and to ensure equal educational access for all children and youth.

*IMPORTANT LEGAL DISCLAIMER: SSAP advocates are trained and knowledgeable in education law; however, they are not licensed attorneys nor are they authorized to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
