*PARALEGAL/LEGAL ASSISTANT*

Baird Lawyers is a locally owned law firm that is seeking a full time paralegal or legal assistant. The hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. There may be an opportunity for some remote work as needed.

The position will involve answering phone lines, greeting incoming clients, filing, scheduling, and preparation of various legal documents.

The applicant should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and demonstrate strong communication and writing skills. Candidates should possess high-level organization and time management skills. Previous legal experience preferred but willing to train the right person. Competitive salary and health insurance provided.

Baird Lawyers is opening its doors on February 1, 2024 at the Plaza Towers here in Springfield, MO. I’ve been told that I need to make posts that are marketable. Undoubtedly, that will happen. I’ll post about being a strong advocate and being the firm you want in your corner. But first, I want to tell you about who I am.
My name is Patrick Baird. I was born and raised in Springfield, MO. I’ve wanted to be a lawyer since I was 12 years old. I was inspired by my dad, Ron Baird, while at Blockbuster Video of all places.
In 2006, that dream became a reality. Over the last 18 years, I’ve worked as a prosecuting attorney, at the Missouri Attorney General’s office, at my dad’s firm, Baird Lightner Millsap, and most recently at Neale & Newman. I’ve had the privilege of working with truly great attorneys. Attorneys have taught me not only how to handle a lawsuit, but how to do so with dignity and pride. I won’t bore everyone on this (too long) post with those names (but that will come later too).
I’m excited for this next step in my legal career and thrilled to have Gus Scott join me. I am hopeful that you won’t need an attorney, but if you do, I hope you’ll think of Baird Lawyers.
