AI is making real estate scams increasingly sophisticated. Criminals can now use voice cloning, deepfake video calls, forged documents, phishing messages, and fake listings to impersonate buyers, sellers, agents, lenders, and other parties involved in a transaction.

The National Association of REALTORS® shares important warning signs and steps real estate professionals can take to help protect themselves and their clients—including independently verifying wiring instructions, confirming identities through multiple channels, and being cautious when unexpected requests create a sense of urgency.
