As to the impending Social Security shortfalls I project Congress will do nothing as it is even more partisan than 43 years ago when Congress enacted changes. Medicare is even more of a mess. I miss President Reagan who in 1983 helped shore up Social Security with bipartisan support. Reminder President Reagan won 49 states in the 1984 elections.
Those elected this fall will face the program’s 2032 insolvency deadline during their six-year terms.
