🇺🇸 As America approaches 250 years as a nation, it feels like the perfect time to reflect on the buildings, downtowns, farms, businesses, and places that helped shape Southern Illinois along the way.
Many of our small towns are filled with history and character—but preservation doesn’t happen by accident. It takes people willing to invest, restore, support local businesses, and believe communities are worth saving.
Not every project is profitable on paper…but the pride, identity, tourism, and sense of community these places create can impact generations.
Thankful for the people helping preserve the past while continuing to build what’s next.
👉🏼So here’s the question: What place in Southern Illinois would you love to see brought back to life❓
