Scammer tip: If something sounds to good to be true, it is likely a scam. Is someone pressuring you to act immediately or you lose out on a lot of money or they will harm someone in your family, it's a scam! Scammers want you to have a gut reaction to the scam and not take the time to think critically before you act. Don't fall for the quick action... Take time to think about what you are being asked to do and check with others, if you are unsure. Never act immediately because you end up losing out.

Don't be a victim of financial fraud. Consumers reported losing $12.5 billion to fraud in 2024, which is a 25% increase in one year! Be on the lookout for emails or calls supposedly coming from a legitimate business or entity. Check the email address. Government agencies or businesses won't send you an email from a Gmail account. The IRS and Social Security do not call you or email you. But, if you do get a call or email, go to the online source or Google the agency or business and interact with only the numbers from their websites, not the email or phone number you get in a suspicious text or email. NEVER use a hyperlink in an email to access your private account. Be suspicious of any unsolicited messages or calls...

It’s cold. We’re annoyed. But, we made it to the office. Parking lot isn’t in great shape, so be very careful if you attempt to swing by. Use the Methodist Church lot. Wear Yak Tracks, if you can. It’s slick.

Fraud is becoming a way of life, unfortunately. However, our office utilizes the services of CertifID to secure our wire transaction, client identities (buyers and sellers and, payoffs certifications on mortgages.
