A Lawyer’s Joke
A tech business owner walked into a lawyer’s office, already bracing himself for what was coming. He had been through this routine before—trying to explain his business to a lawyer who barely understood the difference between a server and a sandwich.
As he took a seat across from the lawyer, he got straight to the point.
“I need help with my customer contracts. We offer IT managed services, cloud and hosting, backup and disaster recovery, managed compliance, managed AI, and managed voice solutions on monthly recurring contracts. We also need to ensure compliance with all state, federal, and international data privacy laws.”
The lawyer looked up and grinned. “You’ve come to the right place. I currently represent 650 managed service providers just like you.”
The business owner raised an eyebrow. “You do?”
“Absolutely,” the lawyer said. “And I’ll tell you what—give me ONE DOLLAR, and I’ll implement a whole new contracting platform for you. Industry-leading templates, fully customized for your business, dynamically updated to stay compliant as the industry evolves.”
The business owner leaned in, intrigued but skeptical.
The lawyer continued, his confidence growing. “In fact, if you onboard within 30 DAYS, I’ll give you $500 CASH to get things moving. Your FIRST PAYMENT isn’t due until day 60. And if you’re not happy by day 90, you can walk away—no strings attached. But if you stay, it’s just $500 PER MONTH for 36 MONTHS, and I’ll proactively keep your contracts up to date for you.”
The business owner blinked. He stared at the lawyer, then glanced around the office, half-expecting cameras to pop out from behind the law books.
“This is a joke, right?”
The lawyer leaned back in his chair and smiled.
“No,” he said. “It’s called MONJUR.”
