We attended this week the annual Estate Planning ICLE conference. This year, the conference was at Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City. We received updates on the law as it pertains to Wills, Trusts, Lady Bird Deeds, and Probate.

The special guest speaker was Attorney Terrence Quinn, wide receiver for the 1997 University of Michigan football national championship team!

We would like to thank Dean Robinette for his many, many, many hours of volunteer service as a Board Member for the Downriver Bar Association over the past 4 years. The presentation of his commemorative clock is of course the best way to mark the passage of time.

Five days ago, our friends at the Brownstown Police Department issued a toy challenge to us, the DBA. We are getting there. See attached photo of ONE of our three you collection locations. You have four more days to give.

The toy drop off locations are at the law offices of Kim Grover, David Loeckner, or Dean Robinette.

Monetary gifts can also be made payable to Toys for Tots.

We would like to thank those who joined our Zoom meeting tonight. We conducted our annual election to fill the one Board vacancy. Congrats to new Board member Anne Pastrana!

The 4 Board members were sworn in immediately: Dean Robinette as President; David Loeckner as Vice President; Judge Gregory Clifton as Secretary; and, Anne Pastrana as Treasurer.

Outgoing President Deborah Blair received a distinguished service award (via Zoom) for her 4 years of service. Thank you, Deborah, we greatly appreciate your service!

Thank you to Judge Geno Salomone for officiating the oath of office. Thank you to special guest Nicholas Hathaway. Good luck on your election run for Circuit Judge this November!
