Thank you to everyone that made for a memorable President's Dinner for the Wolverine Bar Association! Thanks to our gracious Co-Chairs and Co-MC's Judge Miller and Judge Keith for leading a great event and program. Thanks to Justice Bolden, State Bar President James Heath, and NBA Vice-President of Membership Ashley Upkins for their inspiring words of strength. Congrats to Alex Simpson (Member of the Year), Jasmine Moore (Board Member of the Year) and the Barrister's Ball Committee (Committee of the Year). Special thanks to Darralynn Miller, Nancy Fisher, and Shed Amin for making the attendance experience an absolute pleasure. And thank you to the Association of Black Judges of Michigan President Judge Bell, Oak Park City Counsel Candidate Crystal Bailey, actor Hill Harper, and the many judges, politicians, and public figures for taking the time to honor us with their presence.

The Corporate Transparency Act requires many entities to file owner and controlling interest identification data for real estate with FINCEN. It applies to all real estate held by said entities regardless of when purchased. The data will be available to the public and federal government departments. The law was supposed to go into effect January 1, 2022, but, it will not go into effect until its regulations come out. Get ahead on this one. The law impacts real estate deals, IRS reporting, and other business matters.
