Honored to be featured by Keiser University!
I started my studies at Keiser University in August 2007 within a week of obtaining my US residency. I had waited years to be able to attend college, so naturally I jumped right in, eager to learn everything I could. I enrolled in the paralegal studies program and soon became passionate about the study of law.
I graduated from Keiser University in 2009 with an AA in Paralegal Studies. I truly enjoyed my studies at Keiser with Professor Giselle Franco, taking course such as: Legal Research and Drafting, Wills Trust and Estates. Little did I know that taking these courses would develop in me a desire to become a lawyer.
Professor Franco was the first Hispanic female attorney I had ever met. She was my inspiration to believe that, as Hispanic woman myself, I could also become an attorney. After my studies at Keiser, I went on to receive a bachelor’s degree st FIU and and later my Juris Doctor in the state of Indiana.
During law school I was the Vice President of the Latino Law School Association, where my goal was to encourage other Hispanic/Latino students to apply to law school. Our organization developed meaningful relationships with the community, including scholars, judges, and attorneys that joined us in that journey.
I was one of only three Hispanic women in my graduating class in law school. I was happy to see the following classes had a growing number of graduating Hispanic women.
Move forward to 2019, I am a practicing attorney in Florida, owning my own solo practice in the areas of civil litigation and real estate law. I love owning my own practice as I am able to choose what cases I take on. The majority of my clients are Hispanic. Being able to speak with them in their own language, building trusting relationships with them and helping resolve their legal problems is the reason I chose this career.
For this I am forever grateful for my time at Keiser University and the valuable education I received.
