The IRS has announced that the annual gift tax exclusion is increasing from $15,000 to $16,000 next year (2022), to adjust for inflation. The lifetime gift and estate tax exemption will be $12.06 million.

Yes, I am still executing Estate Documents during COVID-19 as it is extremely important to complete potentially final documents now. The process requires some flexibility to be fully compliant with the rules of social distancing and follow the letter of the law.

I have this conversation with many clients. There is no easy way to divide your personal belongings, and the issue isn't generally resolved in a Will.

Personal effects may have little monetary value, but decisions about those items often cause problems in families.

Many retirees, not trying to earn degrees, participate in programs like the Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes, which are affiliated mostly with colleges and universities.

For the elderly, oftentimes better to be poor than middle class.

Some elderly New Yorkers receive too much income to be eligible for assistance, but not enough to pay for the services they need.
