Spent some time last week at the Florida Bar Convention and Family Law Section meetings. One of the great professional experiences of my career is serving on the executive council of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar. In the 22-23 Bar Year, I co-chaired the Publications Committee (where we put out 12 monthly FAMSEGs and 4 Commentators and 3 Fla Bar Journal Articles), served on the Legislation Committee where I served on the alimony subcommittee (part 1), served on the By-Laws Committee (which we successfully amended), and helped host a CLE on the DOR administrative process - all while giving birth and having a baby 💪🏼😅. Excited to serve out year 4 of my term on the Executive Council. Up next: co-chairing the Trial Advocacy Seminar in July! Congrats to Philip Wartenberg on a great year and looking forward to working with the amazing this year!

Honored to be named a “40 Under 40” by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, an incredible organization raising money for an incredible cause. Enjoyed seeing the amazing MC’ing the awards ceremony and celebrating with my friend and fellow honoree, Vicky Leyte-Vidal!

Been a busy couple of weeks between the Florida Bar Convention, Family Law Section meetings, and practicing law, but wanted to share that I'm honored and grateful to have been awarded the "Above and Beyond" Award by the Family Law Section and to be nominated by my colleagues as a Super Lawyers Florida Rising Star!

Proposals ready for House and Senate floor votes this year would do away with what is known as permanent alimony.

03/04/2022

A proposal to eliminate “permanent” alimony is headed to the Senate floor, over the strenuous objection of the Family Law Section and other critics. The Senate Rules Committee voted 10 to 5 on March 1 to approve SB 1796 by Sen. Joe Gruters, R-Sarasota. “This bill is the fairest and most reason...
